Thor: When and how did Bane find out about Batman’s identity and Applied Sciences? - When Bane and Batman first meet, Bane knows his true identity. He likely learned this from Talia Al Ghul, his boss, who likely learned it from Ra’s Al Ghul, her father. But the timeline doesn’t quite fit. Talia Al Ghul and Bane were trained when Taila was young and escaped the pit. Maybe around 12. She and Bruce seem to be around the same age so, that was about 15 years before Bruce met R’as in his late 20s. Bruce then kills Ra’s mere months later at which point Ra’s finds out Bruce is Batman. So did Ra’s call his daughter at some point in this small window, tell her Bruce is Batman, then give her the idea to become a Wayne Enterprise Board Member (even though the nucle
Thor: nuclear device didn’t exist yet) as a long con back up if his plan in Batman Begins failed? Seems like there should be a more concrete explanation as this information is crucial.
And even if that’s how it went down, it doesn’t explain how she or Bane knew about the existence of the Applied Sciences wing of Wayne Enterprises, that it was Batman’s armory and its specific location in the building. Yet they do because Bane was building his hideout right below it. Even if the aforementioned identity leak was possible, Lucius Fox himself said Applied Sciences was “completely off the books.”
jackaran: Okay.
jackaran: I'm half the mind not to tell you.
jackaran: but
jackaran: I will explain
thor: No, please. If I missed a plot point, it'll help with my like of the movie. I was in a bit of a rant. And lets face it, DKR is constantly trying to cram plot down your throat.
jackaran: Lol
jackaran: Let me make a public post for this. One sec.
Batman Begins and Timeline - Roughly 1980's - 2000's
This is key background information. Batman begins takes place in 2005.
The significant part of this is that Bruce trains with Ra's for approximately 1 year. (2004)
Bruce comes back to Gotham and begins to take up being Batman in 2005.
(Additional information) Bruce Wayne is born on February 19th, Bruce's Birthday takes place at the END of the movie (transitioning from 2005-2006)
The Dark Knight, the Dark Knight Rises and Timeline - 2008, 2016
The Dark Knight takes place 2 years after Batman Begins
The Dark Knight Rises takes place 8 years after The Dark Knight.
Your explanation - 2008, 2016
15 years prior to Bruce meeting Ra's is (2004 - 15=1989.) Bruce is approximately 9 years old.
Talia is approximately the same. (I think the script claims she's 12 or 14)
Anyway,
Bane and Talia both (Combine and listening to them explain) Ra's announced his plan to destroy Gotham, Bane and Talia both knew this.
Now you apply deductive reasoning here. Ra's is apart of a global eco-terrorist organization (previously established in Batman begins) Ra's is their leader and when he goes to Gotham and *does not* return alive, Bane and Talia are left with the only logical explanation; he is dead. Therefore Talia goes to Gotham to investigate and formulate a plan. Bane begins building his skills as a fighter and Mercenary.
Ra's already knew Bruce Wayne was Batman, he was surprised that Bruce wore a *Bat costume* That's what he was surprised about...more so amused than anything. Ra's last act alive was to tell Talia that he was going to destroy Gotham. Ra's didn't return.
Talia upon discovering her father died wanted to "prove" Bane's worthiness by having Bane blow up Gotham, a feat her own Father couldn't do.
In order to destroy Gotham, however; you have to stop Batman. Already at the time Batman had 2 years of operations allowing Talia to observe and understand Bruce's connection to Batman. 8 years later, Talia makes her move.
Talia poses as an Investor for Renewable energy (A popular topic in today's world), however; Bruce out smarts that and knows that it is very dangerous so he places safety measures to counter this if something goes wrong.
